Journal Entry 1806 Jul 9: "…the air soon became very cold, and it began to rain. We halted for a few minutes in some old Indian lodges, but finding that the rain continued we proceeded on, though we were all wet to the skin, and halted for dinner at the distance of eight miles. The rain, however, continued, and we determined to go no further." (Lewis. 1814. Vol. 2, p. 338.)
