I have both the Catlin and A.E. Mathews collections. Should I repeat the install process for both?
If you've already installed a CUrator collection and are now adding an additional collection, then run "Setup.Exe" again from the first CD-ROM for the new collection. The installation program will automatically detect that CUrator is already installed, and will present options to "Modify", "Repair" or "Remove" the program. Choose "Modify" and then select the additional Collection.
Sometimes when installing an additional collection, the installation program will detect that the installed version of CUrator is newer than the version on the cdrom for the collection to be added. In this case, the installation program will prompt you to run setup.exe from one of your newer CUrator cdroms. The older collection to be added will be known to the installation program on that newer cdrom.
As always, if you have further installation questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.I'm getting a warning that my color depth is less than 24 bit and 'dithering' may occur. What does this mean?

You can turn off the Image Toolbar and the main Toolbar for more room for the image displays - see "Maximizing Screen Display" under "Tools" in the CUrator Online Help system.
What is the difference between the Adobe text file with the title of "Index to Catlin Texts" and the Acrobat software-generated index?
"Index to Catlin Texts" is a comprehensive index, which was compiled manually. Neither every term nor every instance of a term was included. Non-substantive instances of terms were excluded.
There are instances where a subject is dealt with on more than the page(s) on which the term itself appears. For example, buffalo hunting may be the subject of five consecutive pages, but the term itself may appear on only two of the pages. The UCDP comprehensive index references all five pages.
There are also instances where an index term refers to a page(s) in the text where the term does not appear at all, but is, in fact, the subject under discussion. This is the case for concepts. For example, on page 47 of Vol. 1 of Manners and customs, Catlin relates the experience of the Overland Astorians with the Crow (Absaroke). The term "Astoria" does occur; the term "Astorians" does not; the term "Fur Company" refers to the American Fur Company; the name of Ramsay Crooks, 1787-1859, appears as "Crooke"; and Wilson Price Hunt, 1783-1842, appears as "Hunt." The UCDP comprehensive index reconciles these variant occurrences of terms.
