Bear in the Forks of a Tree (Ne-sou-a-quoit) (Fox (Meshkwakihug)), was painted by King in 1837.  He was described by James Hall as a man of courtesy and integrity with a perfect aversion to traders.  He had seven wives but did not smoke or drink.  The detailed portrayal of attire and penetrating gaze of the subject make this a memorable portrait.
